Pat Buckna first performed at our festival in 2017 and has been our MC every year since. He began performing and songwriting professionally over fifty years ago, has produced concerts in Powell River and on Texada for several years, hosts monthly song circles , and operates a recording studio here on Texada Island. In 2023, Pat released Singing My Songs for You, a new digital-only album of original material. In 2019, he published Only Children, a family memoir. An excellent fingerpicking guitarist, Pat’s music is a blend of folk, country and blues, with thoughtful and heartfelt lyrics that explore contemporary issues and his unique perspective on the world we live in.
